Word order in English 

การเรียงลำดับคำในประโยคภาษาอังกฤษ 

1. ในประโยคภาษาอังกฤษแบบมาตรฐาน หรือ ประโยคบอกเล่ามีโครงสร้างดังนี้ 
    S (subject) + V (verb) + DO (direct object) หรือ ประธาน + กริยา + กรรมตรง
    (ในประโยคที่มีกรรมเพียงตัวเดียว กรรมตัวนั้นจะเป็นกรรมตรงเสมอ)
    เช่น I (S) love (V) cats (DO).
    แต่เมื่อใดก็ตามที่ในประโยคมีกรรมมากกว่า 1 ตัว     ผู้เรียนจำเป็นต้องสังเกตุและทำความเข้าใจในความหมายของประโยคนั้นว่า กรรมใดเป็นกรรมตรง และกรรมใดเป็นกรรมรอง โดยสามารถเขียนให้อยู่ในรูปประโยคได้สองรูปแบบดังนี้

S (subject) + V (verb) + DO (direct object) + IO (indirect object)   
    หรือ ประธาน + กริยา + กรรมตรง + กรรมรอง
    เช่น I (S) give (V) the computer (DO) to my friend (IO).
    ฉันให้คอมพิวเตอร์แก่เพื่อนของฉัน
    ในประโยคนี้จะเห็นได้ว่า คอมพิวเตอร์เป็นกรรมตรงและเพื่อนเป็นกรรมรอง
    หรือ S (subject) + V (verb) + IO (indirect object) + DO (direct object)
    ประธาน + กริยา + กรรมรอง + กรรมตรง
    เช่น I (S) give (V) my friend (IO) the computer (DO).
    ในกรณีนี้ จะไม่ต้องมี to

2. การเรียงลำดับคำในประโยคคำถาม มีโครงสร้างดังนี้ 
    Aux (auxiliary verb) + Subject (subject) + Verb + the rest of sentence
    เช่น Do (aux) you (S) speak (V) English (the rest of the sentence)?
    Did she pass the exam?
    Will you come home tomorrow?
